       Ignition Key Blank Source Found
By: David Gilli Date: November 22, 2015, 5:38 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Hi,
In looking for a key blank to match my Magneti Marelli ignition
key E57 I found the Motokeys site on an Ebay auction.
They seem to have a US site and a UK one...same company it
seems... They also offer blanks for F codes.
I had ordered the last blank NLM had but it was entirely
different...(.an ILCO key. F9IHS on it Made in Canada)
Next i need spare blanks for the the tool boxe keys..They are
IBFM keys (plus a 5-digit number)..seems likely the same as
office furniture lock keys...should be easier, but still
       looking.
Might help someone. Best and safest to all.

Thanks David. I bought as pair of blanks (plus some other parts)
from a guy called Feniks2009 (or similar) on eBay. He does a lot
of ex JNA (Yugoslavian) Militaria, and had things like complete
front ends, swinging arms, mudguards, etc. for the NF. I haven't
had the keys cut yet, but I suspect the cutting isn't too
important, as the single key I got with mine is of a different
       number to the ignition lock!

I got a pair off ebay.com. They were moto guzzi but don't work.
Found this out at Timpsons today. Timpsons didn't have the
correct blanks in their catalogue, but phoned through the Silca
code AF5A and ordered them. Two days they said. Stupidly I
didn't think to check on toolbox keys.

That's bizarre; I must admit although I've bought a pair of
blanks, I've never had them cut yet, and I don't even know where
they are. They did look the same, but I didn't study them with
       any great care...

V twin blanks are "almost the same", cannot be made to work.
That's what's on ebay. I was lucky I had a Silca key with
the blank code stamped on. Timpsons have just rung to say the
       correct blanks have arrived.

It is incorrect to assume that all the keys on ebay are the
same. I have seen at least 8 different sellers in different
       countries.
If you have the blank number on your key you can check...for
example with my key which I quote in my beginning quote on this
       topic.
Motokeys also note other key identifications which it says are
equivalent keys. They also offer, for comparison, a photo of the
end of the key...which other folk seem not to do.
However it was going to cost a total of £11 from them and my
local key man says he can order one in for £4.
If it is wrong, as was the one NLM sent to me, it will not go
into the ignition and I intend to check if the new blank will go
       in before having it cut.
Good luck and best wishes to all. David

Yeh but the ebay sellers[not ebay key specialists] I've seen
have lumped all the Guzzis together and the single's key uses an
entirely different blank, Every pic I've seen is the same design
as I mistakenly bought. I was a muppet. I should have tried
Timpson's first. They only charge a fiver and that includes
       cutting the key....

After reading this thread, it's not clear to me as to where
ignition keys (either blanks or pre-cut) can be sourced. It
would be helpful if somebody listed contact info for brick and
mortar stores that are confirmed sources for correct ignition
       keys.
Alternatively, is the ignition key a Silca key part number AF5A?
If that can be verified, I should be able to order blanks and
have keys cut at my local locksmith.
