The JS bolts almost seem like Jensen Steam but probably some hardware brand. Great work! #Post#: 12668-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jensen 25R By: Dr.Rev.DelmarMacReady Date: July 28, 2019, 8:47 am --------------------------------------------------------- Nice job, Charlie. And like you said, it's great that Jensen still has replacement bits. Much easier than finding a similar model to cannibalize. Well done and for the price? Can't beat that with a stick. #Post#: 12684-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jensen 25R By: txlabman Date: July 28, 2019, 1:44 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Thank you all for the feedback. I decided to leave the blob of solder. IMHO it’s part of the engines history and character. It just doesn’t bother me. As to the sight glass bolts, wheteher original or not, they look cool, no one else seems to have them and they don’t leak. I worked really hard cleaning these up! Many of you have much more refined restoration skills than me. For a first try at a frame off restoration of a Jensen, I am very proud of the outcome. #Post#: 12714-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jensen 25R By: St Paul Steam Date: July 28, 2019, 9:15 pm --------------------------------------------------------- As well you should be Charlie 😊 #Post#: 12798-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jensen 25R By: Roscoe Date: July 30, 2019, 9:13 am --------------------------------------------------------- Great deal you got there Charlie. Did you ask Jensen if they used those bolts ever. Wouldn’t it be cool if JS stood for Jensen Steam. #Post#: 12936-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jensen 25R By: txlabman Date: August 1, 2019, 5:56 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I have not asked Jensen. Next time I talk to Dorita I will do so. I did get in a new order of parts from Jensen today. So, when I get home tomorrow night I will install the replacement spring on the reversing mechanism. Hopefully, I will get it steamedup on Saturday morning. #Post#: 13426-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jensen 25R By: txlabman Date: August 13, 2019, 4:23 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I have added a video of the first steam-up in the "Videos The Office of Steam Cinema" #Post#: 21094-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jensen 25R By: Empire man 202 Date: February 20, 2020, 5:41 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Very nice one Boss man #Post#: 21096-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jensen 25R By: RedRyder Date: February 20, 2020, 6:34 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Charlie, your #25 restoration came out great! #Post#: 21110-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jensen 25R By: txlabman Date: February 21, 2020, 6:46 am --------------------------------------------------------- [quote author=RedRyder link=topic=1286.msg21096#msg21096 date=1582245260] Charlie, your #25 restoration came out great!
