Jensen 15 made in 1951 with the "Omega" style magnet ;) By the
looks of the base, Mr. Jensen didn't want to use any more blue
paint than he had too... :D

I tossed the towel on finding one of these years
ago, and had to purchase a fully functional
1951 Jensen 10, just to break it down for parts, so that i could
at least have a replica represented here.
Such a cool item to have in your collection, thanks for sharing
Nick !

Great piece for the collection, Nick!
Regarding the paint, I have a friend who was close to Tom Sr.
and he said that he never put more than one coat of anything on
anything, anywhere, ever!

Given the amount of bare (not rusty) iron, this one didn't even
make the one full coat of paint :D
Not very surprising as even today the shop still looks pretty
dark inside...

Thanks :) Let's see a pic of your repro Jan ;)
By the way, do you have any sales records of one of these in
your archives?
I know Gil has seen two on 1951 Jensen 50's and has a Big Power
Plant with one and Rog had a stand-alone like this one...
Mine was purchased 10 years ago (arrived Feb 18th, 2010), I have
just now finally cleaned the dust off of it.
The story goes... I was contacted by another collector in the UK
who had received an email (through his website) from someone in
California wanting to sell some Jensen items. I asked for a few
pics, but only received two bad ones... BUT one was good enough
for me to spot something special and I knew I had to buy it!

The guy had never sold anything over the internet and didn't
have paypal, so I made an offer and sent a check out. It was a
long week, waiting to see if the seller was going to be honest
and send the goods... He actually sent the package out a day
before receiving my check, so a medium gamble resulted in a big
payoff ;D
Included with the 55 was a set of Jensen tools. I believe the
hammer is the one I sent over to Jan.
The only other picture he sent me:

Factory re-stamped:

The 55 also had it's original larger chimney included (repro at
top and common size at bottom)
(HTM) https://www.officeofsteamforum.com/gallery/officeofsteamforum/0/6-070220090354-4851545.jpeg
The 15 must have been on the 55 most of its life

That was a great find, Nick!
By any chance, are the boiler straps on the 55 aluminum?

Here is my replica:
[attachimg=1]
At first hand several points makes this easily identifiable by
Jensen connoisseurs as a replica, and will be kept in that
condition here to avoid any future speculations.

Thanks Mike, just checked and the straps on the 55 are not
aluminum, but the straps on my 1951 10 are aluminum.
