By: Adirondack Jack Date: September 22, 2020, 12:50 am --------------------------------------------------------- In the quest to put the M91 vertical hit and miss to work. A piston water pump. The piston and cylinder are brass tube, most of the rest is maple, with laminated 1/8 inch Baltic birch for the two Large pulleys, and a piece of red oak for the connecting rod. The rod big end, crank pulley, and intermediate shaft are all on ball bearings. The small end is brass bushed with a polished carbide wrist pin that began life as a drill shank. The total reduction is 13.9 to 1, which ought to cycle the pump about once a second. Projected output of six or seven ounces a minute. I’ve run the pump by hand, but just tonight got the primary drive belt made, and still need to complete the connecting dock Adapter for the engine sled that keeps the engine and pump aligned. I expect to run it in a day or two. #Post#: 29742-------------------------------------------------- Re: Mostly wood piston water pump.
