I'm quite satisfied with the results, and hope to soon have a proper arrangement of a steam-driven generator powering one of my solenoid engines. Excellent Doug! #Post#: 49441-------------------------------------------------- Re: Cringle Manufacturing Model Generator By: IndianaRog Date: February 22, 2022, 3:06 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Very unique and handsome generator Doug...might look into getting one of them! roger #Post#: 49442-------------------------------------------------- Re: Cringle Manufacturing Model Generator By: St Paul Steam Date: February 22, 2022, 3:33 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for the review Doug , I like that. #Post#: 49445-------------------------------------------------- Re: Cringle Manufacturing Model Generator By: krypto31337 Date: February 22, 2022, 5:38 pm --------------------------------------------------------- What's the current draw at the 6.4v with the above load? Performance in watts is more meaningful. #Post#: 49446-------------------------------------------------- Re: Cringle Manufacturing Model Generator By: crazydoug Date: February 22, 2022, 6:40 pm --------------------------------------------------------- [quote author=krypto31337 link=topic=5376.msg49445#msg49445 date=1645573127] What's the current draw at the 6.4v with the above load? I could check current draw of a few accessories, but dont really have a good way of testing max current capability, nor do i want to risk damaging it. Generally, I use incandescent bulbs with my generators as I prefer the light output and like using the generator to provide a good working load for the engine. I have a decent selection of bulbs and usually I can balance light output versus load to get what I want. Does the generator pull very hard? Maybe it would be nice to use with the Stirling engine I have. #Post#: 49459-------------------------------------------------- Re: Cringle Manufacturing Model Generator By: crazydoug Date: February 23, 2022, 10:48 am --------------------------------------------------------- [quote author=krypto31337 link=topic=5376.msg49447#msg49447 date=1645584809] This weekend I was studying this generator pretty closely as I liked the look, but I was worried about the actual current output capability. I tried a #44 inc. Bulb which draws 220ma at 6v and the generator would not light it up and pulls very hard. It still meets the manufactures specs, although it might not meet you requirements. Hope that helps #Post#: 49465-------------------------------------------------- Re: Cringle Manufacturing Model Generator By: krypto31337 Date: February 23, 2022, 4:16 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for testing! Seems like it's more suited for LED bulbs. Still looks nice though. The chart of incandescent bulbs info I pulled from the old site. Looking forward to opening it this weekend. ***************************************************** (DIR) Next Page
