       Meet Daisy

Right, I wasn't in the market for a lightweight, and Mel
doesn't really want a lightweight HOWEVER a drunken surf on Ebay
last night saw me finding my first ever Land Rover.
I bought it in 1994 and I was the second owner from release and
it was pretty much standard, and was still pretty much standard
when I sold it on a year and a half later. I can't really say
that now and looks rather very very gay and sporting a 2.5 di
       from a tranny.
Mel put a bid on without me knowing, I went to go and see this
morning keeping the emotions firmly in my pocket and not letting
on. Mel made a deal and we now have the V5 sat on the side,
will be picking up next weekend.
She needs a few bits doing to her:
I'm sure I didn't sell it in Metallic green and it had a proper
       grille on her:

There were some proper dials in there too!

Does anybody want to buy a late S3 88?

I'm chuffed to bits and as mrs gadget would say "giddy as a
kipper" and stu has spent all day grinning like a mad man, safe
to say this won't be truly mine but stu is going let let me
drive her! And also I can have my planned paint scheme! And the
       forward facing seats!
The pigeon was still there HHH when we looked at her earlier,
       ;D

That will look right on your drive, bit of ungaying to keep you
even more busy there Stu, if you need a hand with anything just
       holla.

       For now :)
Been thinking about un-gaying her all day and coming up with a
plan of action, so here goes:
Immediate plans are: Fix the leaking hubs, source a grille,
replace the 'panoramic' windscreen, fit some hetero wheels,
remove spacks, swap roofs, maybe fit a cat flap with tailgate
(need to source a lightweight tailgate though), fit an overdrive
(off of the Series 3 88") fit some forward seats and give it the
'speshul' paint job ;) then enjoy for a while.
I would really love to replace the doors too, however some
muppet thought it was a good idea to fit the doors with Series 3
hinges then replace the hinge panels with flat pieces instead of
the indented pieces so that's too big a job for now.
I think the long term will see me source another Lightweight for
spares and then strip it down and shift on what I don't need and
possibly TDi it. However my current priorities go something
like this, sell the poolander, sell the Series 3 88" (which I
still haven't collected), finish the 109", sort the garden out,
build a wall, sort the early swankey, fettle with the Safari.
