Marc Edwards with the game of the week and a TV outing on the
late game on Sky - while we have Simon Mather on the lunchtime
kickoff. Never had any issues with Simon, although I know he can
have a card-heavy reputation. Hopefully smooth sailing for all
officials.
A second trial outing for Stephen Parkinson at Prenton Park as
well.

Another decent appointment for Edwards after Derby v Bolton at
the weekend. Pleased to see these appointments for him as he was
always excellent to work with! A championship trial in the near
future??

Having read the comments from AT and Ryan about his first trial
game at Crewe, a bit uneasy about this appointment.
Also, it seems a little odd that Mr Parkinson, who mainly
referees in the south at his current level has been sent to the
Nort West for both of his trial games.

Yes, he was quite disappointing and missed several clear
incidents. Hopefully a better game for him on Saturday. Good
luck Mr Parkinson.

Experienced is the word and I believe Darren is now the only
current referee to appear in the 2005 edition of Upton's. I
quite like Darren but won't unfortunately be at Crewe Alex to
see him referee a key game in L2. I wish him well.

I think he also had Sutton v Harrogate in January, which is more
on his 'patch'. This then is his 3rd trial game. Fingers
crossed, he has a good one.
