       Edward. He was sometimes referred to as Ted Wallace but was
       known by his middle name of David

       Not forgetting that Dave Wallace was referee for the 1974 League
       Cup Final between Wolves and Man City. He moved from Swindon
       during season 1972/3, so presumably a railway man. Death should
       presumably read 12/96 rather than 12/66.

       Crewe Chronicle, Thursday 27th April 1972
       Cup Final referee
       Mr. David Wallace, who works for British Rail, Crewe, was
       appointed to referee the F.A. Amateur Cup Final between Hendon
       and Enfield at Wembley last Saturday. Mr. Wallace, who lives at
       Swindon, is a Football League referee and is President of the
       Association of F.L. Referees and Linesmen. He recently
       transferred to Crewe and will make his home in the district from
       July.
