       A tricky choice

Which of the two matches should I watch? BBC is showing Spain v
England. ITV has the other fixture, England v Spain. Decisions,
       decisions.

Whichever you watch I am sure the commentators obsession with
certain England players will be evident again. If there is such
a thing as footballing justice Spain should win as they have
been the outstanding team in a fairly mediocre Euro competition.
And, let’s be honest, England have been very fortunate to get
to the final - 3 poor group matches, a 96th min equaliser in
R16, penalties in the quarter final and a very dubious penalty
       in the semi.

Plenty of teams have won tournaments without playing well.
Greece, Denmark and Portugal all spring to mind.

I could be that England’s name is on it, we had a Labour
Government in 1966 so the omens are there.
Agree Spain have been the best side of the Tournament so far but
dorsnt mean they will win it.

The BBC's current obsession with football was evident again this
morning with it being fans being interviewed about the final.
I had to change channels to get the latest on the attempted
assassanation of the former U.S. president.

Don't forget the third option, which is sky sports which have
you watching someone watching the match and telling you what's
happening - I genuinely wonder how many people will watch this
       tonight (and why)

...... and I had to change to get away from it. 300 million
people to choose from and they pick those two - beyond
       unbelievable.

I hope Mrs Whistleblower and your good self are enjoying the
       fine French food available.
I do draw a very bold line at snails however!

Mrs Whistleblower is not accompanying me on this trip. Actually
I really like French cuisine including l'escargots, it's frogs
legs I don't much care for. A good steak with pepper sauce and
       frites is hard to beat.
Paris is turned upside down because of the Olympics. I tend to
stick to the Left Bank which is quieter.
