I can't believe this is happening. Just gigantic stakes.
We've been right there with them twice, had them on the ROPES
twice, and let them off the hook. Inexplicably. That Thomas
game-winner was a thing of homeliness, but it's hard to say it
even stings with us being where we are right now. We can forget
about all of that and make it really hurt for years to come.
We come in bloodied from an absolute prize fight. Meanwhile,
Hofstra had the double bye and really coasted past Delaware.
Before that, they climbed the CAA table with double-digit wins
over Drexel and UNCW (both out; crazy), and followed it up with
the rout tonight. They're talented, they're relatively rested,
and they're going to be an awfully tough out.
I really can't believe what happened tonight. Maidoh career
high! 12 for 17! Who saw him being the one to keep us in it?
Obviously the Williams injury prompted that, and it's a shame
that his career had to end that way, but kudos to the guys for
taking advantage, including Fitz with a big 16 and 5. And of
course Clarke with just monster make after monster make. He's so
much like Brunson. Undersized, not chiseled, but man can he
maneuver to create space or get his defender in the air and
create contact. What a weapon. I'm thrilled that they picked up
for TSM, who had an off night but contributed in other areas.
We'll need him tomorrow. He's equipped himself well defensively
against Thomas. He put 26 the last time, but still, I feel like
he had to work for it, plus we did a better job on Dubar.
Gotta keep this short – long day.
What an enormous spot for us.

Wow, the battle of Long Island; who could have asked for
anything better. Again, pressure on Hofstra here, as the
expected winner. We want revenge, and I'm sure the way the last
game against them ended, we want this one bad. We'll be ready,
exhausted or not, and I expect this game to be a close battle.
You're right, AC has reminded us so much of Brunson these last 2
games. Creating, looking for his shot, being the big game/shot
guy. Fitz with a quiet 16 and 5, but glad he recovered from
that poor Northeastern outing. And Maidoh came out of nowhere
last night, to play the game of his life. Noll was quiet last
night, but I expect him to be ready. Even Frey had an impactful
game, with that huge 3 (after the ball fake.....why doesn't he
do that more???). TSM gets a reprieve, after being in foul
trouble most of the way yesterday. I don't know why, but as
soon as he picked up his first early in the game, I was
concerned about foul issues with him.
One thing I'll say about this team, after a choppy season, the
seniors (TSM, AC, Noll, Fitz) are never ever afraid to take the
big shot. And after last night, we can add Maidoh to that list.
Still surprised that TO hasn't had any minutes in this
tournament. Geno going with his set 8. Heilbron was super
pumped after the win, and probably now feels vindicated with the
Geno extension. I think Geno has coached these games well
overall, and it was touching to see him get choked up in
       emotion, during the Flo post-game.
       Let's go SBU! TCB!

Biggest game in years and all the pressure is on Hofstra. Win
and im elated lose oh well but we established ourselves as the
best newcomer and future contender will for sure help
       recruiting.

Huge game- we are due for one against them. The gap between
these two teams has closed and we should have a good fight in
       us.
All adrenaline at this point. Our own March Madness.
Regardless of the outcome, I think their performance this
tournament will help tremendously with recruiting this break.
And maybe we can get an invite to NIT or CBI for more post
       season fun? Who knows.

caught the replay. williams is a stud and i wish him well, dont
know why they kept putting him back in just to pull him quickly-
you could see in his expression he was not happy. he's a star.
anyone see him talking to geno from the court? seemed friendly,
just not sure what it was about.
some of the AC shots were off-balance and just went in at the
right time- the long 2 he hit was a line drive and ended up
       pure.
im in the minority on this one but i dont think this necessarily
justifies an extension (a first round win in a midmajor
tourney?). when you consider the resources we've spent and the
advantages we have? drexel's great and all that... 125 at KP,
13-5. but missing their star for half the game. we have a
bench full of GR students and transfers. it's one game further
       than last year.
we shot great (31/58), passed the ball (14A), won the boards,
and limited TOs. and we limited low % shots. it's not rocket
       surgery.
having grown up in nassau, and a hofstra grad in my immediate
family; yes, id like a victory. GO SB

@CoB, not sure if these last 2 games justify the extension, but
def assuaged the losing of those 5 Conf games that we could
have/should have won. And one correction; we’re actually 2
rounds further than last year, since we earned the first round
       bye this year.

The way i look at it is, we won two postseason games for the
       first time since 2016.
