Her gram passed away quietly this morning and she'll be heading
to Pittsburg for a few days to be with family and friends.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
Today would have been her 84th Birthday. Gram Ellie was a great
lady - so glad my kids got to meet her and spend time with her
(though living far away, it never seems enough). We lost my
grandfather - her husband of 50+ years - seven years ago just
last week. She'd been sick and suffering with different issues
over the years. Dementia took her personality and tweaked it
over the last 5 or 6 years, but there were very infrequent
glimpses of *her* at times. Over the last 2 or 3 times I had
gone to visit, she knew my kids (actually she always knew them)
- but didn't know me by name; she always looked at me with an
expression like she should know me, but didn't remember the
name. Except the last visit about a month and a half ago -
about 30 minutes before I was leaving she looked up from the
book she was working on with Gracie and said, "You're APRIL" and
had such a smile.
She had a committed marriage, five daughters, six grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren. She had a long life, we owe her
much and thank her for all.
