Yes I have. On a beautiful day I was home alone with Daniel he
was just a few months old, and my DH call me and says, get in
the bathroom a tornado is coming right in the middle of our
house. I did not panic, but instead of going into the bathroom
I sat still in the living room where there was a huge window.
We were lucky in did not do any damage to our home, only the
screen porch lost a few panels of screen. But the noise is
horrible, sounds like a freight train in coming through your
home. Don't ever want to go through something like that again.
I take a hurricane anytime.

No we have done the basement thing a couple times but that was

Yes, in 1988 we had a tornado go right by our house. We had
just moved in a few months before and I was pregnant with DD#2.
It took the siding off the front of the house, some shingles and
broke a couple windows. We were lucky. A house 5 doors down
was lifted up off the foundation and moved back 10 feet.

We were hit by an F1 in 2005.. trees down.. our gazebo destroyed
we had to re-build.. neighbors had holes in their roofs from
tree smashing in...

No, but there have been several within an hour or less to our
house or DH's work place. Too close for comfort, if you ask me.
