The challenge I gave the girls this week was make a border out
of paper and ink for the page. Sorry my photo is upside down.

       What you need:
-two 12X12 pieces of textured cardstock, white or off white.
-two pieces of cardstock 3 x 11 1/2: light color - these pieces
will be covered so they don't need to be anything special but
its best if they are light colored
       -2 pieces of 12 x 3 1/4 cardstock to mat the border.
       -3 or four ink pads
       -sponges
       What to do:
       1. Tear a portion of the textured cardstock into pieces. tear
into strips and then break them into even smaller pieces.
       2. glue down to the cardstock to be covered.
       3. let dry well.
       4. Turn upside down and cut with your cutter, the edges off the
torn papers so that it aligns with the cardstock. Cut off the
edges that hang over the cardstock. You may have to also use
scissors if your cutter doesn't cut deep enough.
       5. Ink the tops of the torn pieces in groupings. Use the
sponges. Be sure to ink well enough so you see the defined
edges on at least some of the torn papers. Check the examples
       on the site.

       6. mat onto the matting paper you have chosen, and place on
       your scrapbook page.
       7. Add lettering, stamp a stamp, or add other embellishments to
       complete the border.

My example only has one photo because I chose to use this page
to display my daughters preschool drawings, but others used
       photos.
