We saw Yesterday tonight. The critics on Rotten Tomatoes were
not thrilled with it but over 90% of the people liked it. As
usual the critics were full of crap and are just self important
blowhards. It was two hours of entertainment, some good laughs
       and fun.
I won't do any spoilers but I highly recommend seeing it. I
know the Beatles are more my generation but still worth seeing
       for everyone IMO.

I can see being critical about things like art direction or
saying weather or not a movie feels low or long. but I often
find Critics find no joy is good story telling an a simple
       enjoyable concept.

That was my point. I don't go to the theater expecting an
academy award winner every time. I go looking for 2 hours of
entertainment for my $. This film easily met that standard. So
my message is, don't listen to the critics, go see it and you
       will be glad you did.

I find most academy movies a bit dull.
Looks like review wise the moves is gettinga bit mroe love as
       mre see it
       Wikipedia
Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 61% based
on 200 reviews, with an average rating of 6.4/10. The site's
critical consensus reads: "Yesterday may fall short of fab, but
the end result is still a sweetly charming fantasy with an
       intriguing—albeit somewhat under-explored—premise."[28] On
Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 55 out of
100, based on 35 critics, indicating "mixed or average
reviews".[29] Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an
average grade of "A−" on an A+ to F scale, while those at
PostTrak gave it an overall positive score of 87% and a 63%
       "definite recommend".
It's not highly rated but on the upper half.
I think one think that might make some be overly critical is
this is one of many Movies using the same music.

The gap between the people and the critics is massive right now.
Critics 60% People 91%. 31% more people liked it over critics!
And that is my point - go with the people not the stick up the
butt, no fun ever, self important jerk, critics!
