There are still many questions going into next season such as the fate of Kryptonite and if other minor unannounced improvements will be made such as restaurants , Superman trains , etc. 2021 has to be the coaster year at this point. SFNE is due for a new coaster but I fear it will be a copy of a single rail coaster or compact launched coaster installed at other six flags properties over the past few seasons. Six Flags has gotten very vanilla when it comes to adding attractions with few custom coasters being built and recycled names for attractions. The park just doesn’t have a ton of space for a large lengthy coaster and I believe Goliath will win out over Flashback and you’ll see something moved into that space. Scrambler will be moved, the Asian restaurant moved / demolished to fit the coaster in the space. #Post#: 1095-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2021 and Beyond Speculation By: heatherrrrz Date: August 30, 2019, 1:03 pm --------------------------------------------------------- What I hope: Goliath or Flashback removed and something cool put in it's place New Water Ride NO MORE SPINNING FLAT RIDES Wishful thinking: justice league dark ride East Coast Racers (lol I know this would probably never come to our small park) #Post#: 1096-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2021 and Beyond Speculation By: Mrceagle Date: August 30, 2019, 1:22 pm --------------------------------------------------------- SFI seems to be making moves on the cheap It's hard to believe they would remove 2 coasters for one and extremely unlikely they would remove a food stand and relocate a flat for one. It's more like we would loose one attraction like Gauntlet or Goliath with only one attraction added to that area. New Trains for Superman would be much welcomed and If they added a cheaper water park addition they would have something to market during an expensive capital improvement year. #Post#: 1097-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2021 and Beyond Speculation By: heatherrrrz Date: August 30, 2019, 1:36 pm ---------------------------------------------------------
SFI seems to be making moves on the cheap It's hard to believe they would remove 2 coasters for one and extremely unlikely they would remove a food stand and relocate a flat for one.
I'd be okay with new trains for superman as long as it comes with more than just that addition, water park addition something like mat racers can't run too much right? Oh I didn't mean remove both, probably more likely to just remove Flashback at this point. Gauntlet is a people eater even though it sucks, they tend to have huge lines on busy days #Post#: 1098-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2021 and Beyond Speculation By: Mrceagle Date: August 30, 2019, 6:33 pm --------------------------------------------------------- The Corkscrew has long lines at Canobie on busy days doesn't mean it's doing anything for the park. Matt Racers are a few hundred thousand. So reasonably cheap addition. I'm more figuring while the trains would be great they are not really marketable to the GP. not that I think the park taking a year off would hurt them. If they spent that few hundred K on other improvements that wouldn't be a bad move. Batman needs to be repainted. the park could use more trees. Houdini needs rehab. #Post#: 1099-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2021 and Beyond Speculation By: thrillsnewengland Date: August 30, 2019, 10:48 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I feel fairly confident that if the maintenance shed in the North End is actually being relocated, we will get a Maxx Force type launch coaster or an RMC raptor in that spot. SFNE is making do with the space that they have. #Post#: 1100-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2021 and Beyond Speculation By: Johnnyfireman87 Date: August 31, 2019, 5:21 am --------------------------------------------------------- We dont need more coaster until 2022/23. We need water park and more flats and a referb of Houdini. Loving the spinning ride theme hope we get what fiesta texas got this yr that air racer. If any coaster leaves its gauntlet for the launch coaster there, or flash back for a raptor. And if that happens crack axle cannon will be re done and im sure better flats since tomahawk will leave for sure and rocking rodeo will move also. Just want all to be happy with what we get since other parks like la ronde and great escape get crap every yr and thise fans are ok with that. Or look at magic mountain nothing new 2020 #Post#: 1101-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2021 and Beyond Speculation By: depotrat Date: August 31, 2019, 5:51 am --------------------------------------------------------- You may think no coaster until 2023 but SFI knows that nothing brings ROI like a coaster. All the new spinny rides etc are nice and usually way more inexpensive but nothing sells tickets and season passes like a new coaster. Think back to the excitement at the park for WC. Now think about the hype for Spinsanity. Not even close there and I bet the ticket sales reflected that level of interest. I will be very surprised if 2021 is not a coaster. You can only get by with Spinsanity and Sky Flyer for so long. Coasters are the king of selling tickets. As for Magic Mountain getting nothing in 2020. I am sure the thinking there is that West Coast Racers is now their 2020 new attraction since it is now September and it still has not opened. Expect them to start hyping WCR as new and the reason to buy 2020 passes pretty soon. #Post#: 1102-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2021 and Beyond Speculation By: Mrceagle Date: August 31, 2019, 10:47 am --------------------------------------------------------- I know it's fun to think they will just remove and relocate a tone fo stuff to add a big coaster but how many of you really think that's realistic. They got permission to relocate that maintenance building 3-4 years ago. The Yes vote don't just stay open they would have to reply but I doubt they would have any issues getting a yes again. But a new building could be prefabbed and run them a few hundred K or a more traditional building and run then into the millions. If there is a second floor it will need an elevator, which will up the coast. it's unlikely they would then remove a ride, relocate a ride, etc just to put in an even bigger coaster which will just cost more.' Face it out last really big addition was wicked Cyclone. everything else is under 5 Million. The addition required little to no extra investment. This seems to be a trend company-wide. Why would they change that? ***************************************************** (DIR) Next Page
