The cost to bring back that park would be way beyond what NO should be spending on such a project. That leaves a private company doing it and even with incredible tax breaks from NO and LA I'm doubtful of anyone wanting to invest there. The park is not in a great area to start with and was never a leading park for SFI in the best of times. Now the population of the area is greatly diminished which will just make any ROI even more difficult. Not allowing the pro Jazzland people to speak at the meeting is un-American and sad. #Post#: 1114-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jazzland (Six Flags New Orleans) By: Mrceagle Date: September 3, 2019, 12:43 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Strange way to start a topic but I support any effort to bring the park back. Saw on the top image they want toa dd a hotel and a waterpark both good ideas sine the park itself struggled to make a profit. Similar to Hard Rock park it was building a bit too big to start with. Then to make matters worse kept expanding despite the lack of profit. I think the mixed-use area is also a good idea but Downfall with that is if the upper floors are offices or residents they tend to move in and make a fuss about the noise. #Post#: 1826-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jazzland (Six Flags New Orleans) By: Pineracer Date: January 21, 2020, 11:47 am --------------------------------------------------------- Where did you hear that Magic Springs' SLC was supposed to go to Jazzland? #Post#: 1827-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jazzland (Six Flags New Orleans) By: Pineracer Date: January 21, 2020, 11:48 am --------------------------------------------------------- Also, Bright Sun Films is doing a documentary on the site. Can't wait to see it. #Post#: 1837-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jazzland (Six Flags New Orleans) By: Mrceagle Date: January 22, 2020, 9:13 pm --------------------------------------------------------- It was in a number of reports back in the day. #Post#: 1847-------------------------------------------------- Re: Jazzland (Six Flags New Orleans) By: Pineracer Date: January 23, 2020, 10:08 am --------------------------------------------------------- [quote author=Mrceagle link=topic=185.msg1837#msg1837 date=1579749230] It was in a number of reports back in the day. I'll do some digging to see if I can dig anything up. *****************************************************
