By: Mrceagle Date: January 25, 2020, 3:05 pm --------------------------------------------------------- It's TGE to SFI. I go to SFNE and ride all the rides I want in The kiddie lands a few without my nieces and nephew. I have been on a great chance many times. I have been on the roadrunner they just removed from SFGadv which is the same model coaster at SFGAdv with no child. The general argument is guests safely not having some random adult on a ride with kids but these rides are easily observed and you just don't sit anyone next to that adult. Thing is it's easy to explain their safety concern to my parents it's not so easy to explain it to a 14-year-old Autistic girl that doesn't understand why she can't ride a ride. #Post#: 1882-------------------------------------------------- Re: If I ran the park... By: CodyatTGE Date: January 25, 2020, 3:29 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I couldn’t ride the speedway ride in Timbertown in 2010 when I was 9 years old. #Post#: 1907-------------------------------------------------- Re: If I ran the park... By: Mrceagle Date: January 27, 2020, 10:04 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I get the safety concerns but in a park this small if you have a ride that is intended for families and not just small kids you should let anyone who wants to ride, Ride. #Post#: 1914-------------------------------------------------- Re: If I ran the park... By: tge98 Date: January 28, 2020, 9:04 am --------------------------------------------------------- It has nothing to do with the ride itself, it has to do with the State of New York. 16 and 17 year old employees can't run a ride with more adults than kids on it, there has to be a one to one ratio or less for a minor to operate it. In other states 16 and 17 year olds don't have the same restriction. If you are really adamant about getting on one of those "accompanied by a kid rides" try to talk to a supervisor or hospitality. Usually they are able to work something out to get you on. Also, I heard from someone after HH harbor closed this year that they will most likely be removing the max height on BB this year. #Post#: 1916-------------------------------------------------- Re: If I ran the park... By: CodyatTGE Date: January 28, 2020, 10:05 am --------------------------------------------------------- That’s good, there really is no reason that that should have a height restriction. #Post#: 1944-------------------------------------------------- Re: If I ran the park... By: Mrceagle Date: January 29, 2020, 7:58 am --------------------------------------------------------- In NH you can't operate a ride unless you're over 18 a ride attendance can be 15-17. you can get a work permit at 14 but with heavy limitations on work time. but the law seems backwards. A younger less responsible operator can operate a ride that is majority occupied by younger more impulsive riders. #Post#: 1949-------------------------------------------------- Re: If I ran the park... By: CodyatTGE Date: January 29, 2020, 10:05 am --------------------------------------------------------- That’s a good point, but I can’t see a 14 year old being allowed to operate a coaster so they have to throw them somewhere. #Post#: 1966-------------------------------------------------- Re: If I ran the park... By: Mrceagle Date: January 30, 2020, 12:20 am --------------------------------------------------------- The 14-year-old end up in simple jobs. smaller games. arcade attendants, landscaping, things like that simple jobs. They are not allowed to operate any ride. all rides have to be operated by Someone 18 or older. At Canobie the majority of kiddie rides are operated by Seniors. not teens and young adults. #Post#: 1969-------------------------------------------------- Re: If I ran the park... By: CodyatTGE Date: January 30, 2020, 6:15 am --------------------------------------------------------- Yeah that seems way smarter. I have a friend who started working there this summer and she just did parking, so there are places they can go. #Post#: 1975-------------------------------------------------- Re: If I ran the park... By: Mrceagle Date: January 30, 2020, 11:23 pm --------------------------------------------------------- At least make sure the 3 rides in the park that are argumentatively family rides have operators over 18. ***************************************************** (DIR) Previous Page (DIR) Next Page
