I'd hate to loose Houdini but if Tomahawk ever cam out the new ride should come with a overhaul of the area and A rehab to Houdini. #Post#: 619-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2020 Speculation & Rumors By: Riverside Speedway Date: June 18, 2019, 7:20 pm --------------------------------------------------------- A launched coaster or something like Maverick at Cedar Point would be good for the park. The problem is it would need to be customized to fit into a tight space and that costs extra money. What we would probably end up getting is a clone of a Sky Rocket which they could wedge into the spot Flashback sits on. Further down the road you may see Blizzard River retired and that space used for another coaster. #Post#: 620-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2020 Speculation & Rumors By: Mrceagle Date: June 18, 2019, 10:37 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Thats just a sad thing to think about the parks best water ride and one of their more unique rides removed for yet another coaster. no parks needs coasters so close you can spit and hit 3 of them. #Post#: 621-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2020 Speculation & Rumors By: Riverside Speedway Date: June 19, 2019, 12:09 am --------------------------------------------------------- I 100% agree but the trend seems to be not in favor for standalone water rides these days. Six Flags has done a terrible job of investing in flat rides over the years. We are lucky to have as many as we do but it’s not even close to what we had a decade ago... Time Warp Double Trouble Chaos Spider Colossus Nightwing Skyride Twister Buzzsaw Rodeo Log Flume Six Flags has forgotten you need to offer something for guests to do which aren’t roller coasters. #Post#: 622-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2020 Speculation & Rumors By: Bubber11 Date: June 19, 2019, 7:45 am ---------------------------------------------------------
I 100% agree but the trend seems to be not in favor for standalone water rides these days.
That have been addressing this recently at all the Six Flags parks. It isn't going to be an overnight thing but recently we have gotten some good flat rides. Sky Screamer, Rocking Rodeo, Fireball, Harley Quinn and Cyborg. Sure we've lost older ones. But generally they've all been major upgrades. The last coaster we got was Wicked Cyclone which no one can complain was bad for the park... The water rides in parks are a dying thing even at non six flags parks, we also have access to a free water park included so losing another expensive to run and staff water ride in the dry park would not hurt many peoples view of the park. #Post#: 623-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2020 Speculation & Rumors By: Quindalin69 Date: June 19, 2019, 7:51 am ---------------------------------------------------------
That entire area tends to get deal you have 2 old rides and a new family ride but its a dead end.
I wouldn't put Fireball on the list of Good flats. I road it and it's nothing special I get the argument but its hassle to have to change just to cool off. Rapids rides and Flumes are great attractions. In fact you get far more ride in those water rides that most of the water slides combined. They are not a Dying thing there are still parks putting in water rides. Yes SFI seems to be giving them up and Sea world removed he flume at their Texas park but parks like Lego land have added water attractions. #Post#: 643-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2020 Speculation & Rumors By: Swissbob Date: June 22, 2019, 6:02 pm ---------------------------------------------------------
I 100% agree but the trend seems to be not in favor for standalone water rides these days.
And I still miss Catapult and even Sea Dragon (I still can't believe Sea Dragon has now been gone for 18 years)! Out of curiosity, anyone here remember what was the last year of the Music Express? I want to say it lasted to somewhere around the mid 1990's. #Post#: 645-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2020 Speculation & Rumors By: Mrceagle Date: June 23, 2019, 8:44 am --------------------------------------------------------- I don't believe it was there when I visited in 06. So sometime before that. #Post#: 738-------------------------------------------------- Re: 2020 Speculation & Rumors By: dellice45 Date: July 6, 2019, 10:41 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I’m hoping that water ever is coming next year starts showing some signs around the park soon! ***************************************************** (DIR) Previous Page (DIR) Next Page
