I am wondering if we can upgrade the unused passes from 2020 to Platinum. #Post#: 2667-------------------------------------------------- Re: Palace Season Pass By: SuperWickedFun! Date: February 1, 2021, 9:23 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Funny you should ask. I’ve chatted with the park about it and actually sent a follow up over the weekend. Hoping we’ll haven’t more info soon one way or the other. #Post#: 2668-------------------------------------------------- Re: Palace Season Pass By: Mrceagle Date: February 3, 2021, 10:41 am --------------------------------------------------------- I think it's a good question. Which version did you have because this is an upgrade of theire2020 base that allowed access to only the 2 other NE parks. Storyland and Santa's Village. I suspect since the pass is extended for the year you might have to wait and do it next year. but that's just a guess. if you have bought it last year before it was announced and then wanted the upgrade I think it might be easier. but I have found from conversations that the chain is very accommodating. I think this is a great movie. it makes the pass more competitive with SFI's pass and there are a lot of park options in PA and the east coast. even if they can get a few dozen to travel and check out some of the NE parks or get extra attention to their PA parks it's a good movie. #Post#: 2670-------------------------------------------------- Re: Palace Season Pass By: depotrat Date: February 3, 2021, 9:41 pm --------------------------------------------------------- We are about due for a trip to Kennywood. We have not ridden Steel Curtain yet as our last visit was 2017. I think that might make the upgrade worth it alone. #Post#: 2671-------------------------------------------------- Re: Palace Season Pass By: Mrceagle Date: February 4, 2021, 10:25 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Admission to LC is I think $42 a day So even if you only paned to hit LC a few times and 1 of the other NE parks you could get your money's worth out of it. If you're planning to go to PA then hands down it's a good movie. I'm thinking of getting it just to hit the local parks. I have been to LC a few times in the last few years but it's been about 5 years since I've been to Storyland when I had a basic season pass for a few years and I have;t been to Water Country in close to 20 years. #Post#: 2672-------------------------------------------------- Re: Palace Season Pass By: depotrat Date: February 5, 2021, 6:49 am --------------------------------------------------------- Except we already have a pass for LC for 2021 due to the extension of the 2020 pass. So the question for us is will the cost of the upgrade be less than one day at other parks total. Obviously I will need the availability and cost of the upgrade to decide. #Post#: 2673-------------------------------------------------- Re: Palace Season Pass By: SuperWickedFun! Date: February 7, 2021, 1:29 pm --------------------------------------------------------- So as of now the answer is that there are no upgrade options available from a 2020 to a 2021 season pass. Park said since pass tiers and benefits have completely changed for 2021, they will not be upgrading 2020 Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Gold Deluxe Season Passes to any of the new 2021 Season Passes. However, if anyone purchased a 2021 season pass on or after October 16, 2020 then your pass will qualify for the Dayback Guarantee (HTM) https://www.lakecompounce.com/plan-a-visit/season-passes#dayback<br />the park is now offering towards the 2022 season. #Post#: 2674-------------------------------------------------- Re: Palace Season Pass By: depotrat Date: February 7, 2021, 3:12 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Big mistake. They have an opportunity to get MORE MONEY from people who otherwise would give them $0.00 for the year. The math isn't difficult. Take whatever amount was paid for the original 2020 pass and apply it to the price of the upgrade to platinum pass. Sure it probably could not be done on line but at Customer Care it shouldn't be difficult. If they think anyone is just going to abandon the 2020 pass and buy a new 2021 pass to get that perk they are deluded. I think I paid $75 for the 2020. Just charge me another $75 and give me the platinum upgrade. $75 x however many people want to upgrade = REAL MONEY $75 x nobody because you don't want to do the math = ZERO MONEY. I think whoever made that decision is guilty of bad business. #Post#: 2675-------------------------------------------------- Re: Palace Season Pass By: SuperWickedFun! Date: February 7, 2021, 4:07 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I did mention that since I agree. Also could be a good way to get people to try the platinum pass to see if they like it and go with it next year. Seems like a simple way to get some extra cash flow coming in. Otherwise why would you need a 2021 pass if you had a 2020. #Post#: 2676-------------------------------------------------- Re: Palace Season Pass By: depotrat Date: February 7, 2021, 4:41 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Exactly right and it costs them almost nothing to get the extra $75 that they have no chance of getting without an upgrade. That makes the additional $75 booked as 100% profit. It makes no sense to not take the money. They could probably even getaway with a small "processing fee" too. Taking money from customers is kinda rule one in business. ***************************************************** (DIR) Next Page
