In 2001 SFGAdv was a different beast. the Safari was separate gate there were fewer coasters but more flats. one flat they had that particularly stood out was Jumping Jack Flash a Huss Jump ride. While it was amazing ride and spectacular to watch it was in a horrible location. the portable version was put upon the midway near the ice cram themed restaurant. basically you had to walk around building or through building to get to it. This made no sense since the boardwalk area had wide open areas that could have houses the ride and the rides carnival fencing wouldn't have been so out of place there. Sadly this ride and many other flats have left the park. #Post#: 175-------------------------------------------------- Re: Six Flags Great Adventure By: Pineracer Date: May 6, 2019, 10:21 am --------------------------------------------------------- Most of the War on Lines flats were unreliable and were removed before all the financial issues. #Post#: 180-------------------------------------------------- Re: Six Flags Great Adventure By: Mrceagle Date: May 6, 2019, 8:10 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I'm sure that was their excuse but a big chunk of the flats removed form SFGAdv where relocated to other Parks. So they couldn't have been that unreliable. #Post#: 244-------------------------------------------------- Re: Six Flags Great Adventure By: Pineracer Date: May 8, 2019, 10:52 am --------------------------------------------------------- (HTM) https://media.giphy.com/media/peBw21sPZnlqE/giphy-tumblr.gif #Post#: 607-------------------------------------------------- Re: Six Flags Great Adventure By: SuperWickedFun! Date: June 16, 2019, 4:02 pm --------------------------------------------------------- We rode Wonder Woman several times on Thursday. Like Harley Quinn it’s a ton of fun. Two different experiences since you don’t have a ride like Joker to come close to but this is the larger model like CraZanity and the hang time weightlessness is incredible. #Post#: 761-------------------------------------------------- Re: Six Flags Great Adventure By: heatherrrrz Date: July 8, 2019, 11:03 am --------------------------------------------------------- Had my first trip to Great Adventure over the past few days. Went for the 4th, left our house at 7:30 and got there right in time for park opening. Lines were a little busy for security but we got a flashpass and didn't even need it. It was however worth the 3 or 4 rides we got on the log flume. I can see why they take these out of the parks, it was looking a little bit sketchy there especially when it was loaded with 5-6 people and it looked close to going over the side. Our original plan was to stay for the fireworks and then stay at a hotel overnight and go to the park the next morning and leave in the evening. However, my boyfriend ended up not feeling well from the heat and we left around 6:30 and headed to the hotel with the plan to go back the next morning. We stayed till around the same time the next night after going to hurricane harbor for an hour before it stormed. Headed back into the theme park just to get food for dinner, we ended up getting a hotel for a second night so we could go to the water park in the morning which didn't end up happening. Saturday ended up being a stormy morning so we hit up a couple of rides and then we got out of doing Dark Knight for the second time before everything shut down due to lightning in the area. Impressions of rides I did: Nitro 1x - crazyyy, greyed out during the helix. I only just went on Superman for the first time last year so I'm trying to get over my fear of heights on roller coasters and this was an interesting way to do it. The lift hill seems to take even longer than our Superman and it's also really loud which makes the anticipation worse. Batman The Ride 1x - rode in the back row and the forces were intense. My bf's restraint ended up coming unlocked but the seatbelt held up and he quickly pulled the restraint down again. Given this, he was freaked out about going on any more roller coasters with OTSR but by the end of the day he felt better. Skull Mountain 3x - awesome indoor coaster, kinda reminds me of big thunder mountain just inside Dark Knight Coaster 2x - sooo much better than our Gotham City Gauntlet. Rumor is this was supposed to be at our park? Wish that permit situation didn't end up bad. Bizarro 1x - I loved this floorless coaster, the themeing was really great. My restraint needed to be pushed down more so I didn't like the feeling that I was falling out of my seat on the inversions, but other than that I really enjoyed it. Log Ride 5x by the end of the three days - sketchy log ride, but overall really fun with multiple drops instead of just the one large one most log rides have. Skyride - great view of the park, little sketchy though. Big Wheel 1x - probably the better view of the park rather than the sky ride. Safari 1x - it was almost like I was at Disney again. Some of their enclosures looked a bit small, especially the bear cub in Camp Aventura which was throwing itself against the cage to try and escape. Congo Rapids 1x - this was down both Thursday and Friday and was only up on Saturday when we went. Gets you a lot more wet than our rapids ride does, but it feels shorter. I didn't get to do the Green Lantern/Superman/Justice League area since we were headed over there when the storm rolled in on Saturday. Hopefully we'll be back later again this year. #Post#: 762-------------------------------------------------- Re: Six Flags Great Adventure By: Mrceagle Date: July 8, 2019, 2:22 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I'm surprised you didn't put this in the trip report section. Sounds like you had a fun trip. Personally never found Flumes Sketchy even this older raised arrow ones. Nitro is very powerful in the helix. #Post#: 764-------------------------------------------------- Re: Six Flags Great Adventure By: heatherrrrz Date: July 8, 2019, 3:50 pm ---------------------------------------------------------
I'm surprised you didn't put this in the trip report section.
Was going to but looks like we don't have a great adventure section to put it in! It was really great, it left me wanting GAdv to be our home park tbh. #Post#: 765-------------------------------------------------- Re: Six Flags Great Adventure By: Bubber11 Date: July 9, 2019, 8:00 am --------------------------------------------------------- Curious did you not ride El Toro? My last ride on it was rough and not enjoyable curious if it is any better. ***************************************************** (DIR) Next Page
