It's such a nice park. the parks art deco theme and long central grass courtyard. This park has amazing dark rides. In fact they are what really make this park for me. The coasters re OK. Dragon has a great layout but back then was in horribly bad need of rehab which I doubt its seen. Valor is a fun Flying coaster and I enjoyed but like many compact coaster had a lot of jerky transitions. The mouse was horrible and The flyer coaster was ok for a kiddie family coaster. I have never been on the wooden kiddie coaster but I would like to try it out. one flat I hope they still have and Wish took of more what the Sky Skater. It didn't do much just rolled back and forth but it was a lot of fun and was very accommodating to a range of guests. #Post#: 344-------------------------------------------------- Re: Rye's Playland By: Pineracer Date: May 16, 2019, 10:24 am --------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like the people who were supposed to start operating the park are not going to anymore #Post#: 346-------------------------------------------------- Re: Rye's Playland By: Mrceagle Date: May 16, 2019, 4:57 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Interesting. Problem is every time Things get turned around all that happens is nothing gets done at the park and They need to get things done. #Post#: 347-------------------------------------------------- Re: Rye's Playland By: depotrat Date: May 16, 2019, 6:06 pm --------------------------------------------------------- ^I would tend to agree but those folks probably were not the best choice to run the park. They were chosen by the previous county administration and were not seeing eye to eye. It is best to move on with something that can be well supported by government. #Post#: 706-------------------------------------------------- Re: Rye's Playland By: depotrat Date: July 1, 2019, 4:33 am --------------------------------------------------------- The CBS show Instinct (Sundays 8PM) has an episode Sunday 7/7 that has the stars investigating a murder on a roller coaster. A 2 second piece of the preview for that episode looks like the coaster is Rye Playland's Dragon Coaster. #Post#: 712-------------------------------------------------- Re: Rye's Playland By: Mrceagle Date: July 1, 2019, 6:19 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Might be worth looking into. I was at the park yesterday. they are getting a Zamperla disco. they relocated the kite flier to accommodate the new ride. still being installed. #Post#: 763-------------------------------------------------- Re: Rye's Playland By: Mrceagle Date: July 8, 2019, 2:47 pm --------------------------------------------------------- You can read some of my trip report her. It seems a bit steep for those 2 rides. The carousel house doesn't seem that damaged from the fire and even a full restoration fo the carousel Would be a fraction fo that 10 million. Hard to guess what a full rehab of derby racer would be but it was working very well with no issues when I visited. ***************************************************** (DIR) Next Page
