Im already hearing lightning rod is having issues. I can't
believe that if LR is down on my visit it will be 4 straight
years the coaster is down in june! :(
       [/quote]
Lightning Rod ran all day today without any downtime.

I've been very encouraged by how well the ride has run thus far
this year. I think the real test will be during the summer
since that is when the ride has struggled its most.

Finally got to ride lightning rod yesterday and it is a great
coaster. In fact it is my new #1 wooden coaster and #1 coaster
over all. They have fixxed the issues with this ride as it ran
flawlessly all day. The only problem was we had rain so they
were only running 1 train. I was able to ride it 3 times in the
morning front, middle and back. I thought the back was the most
       intense.

on a side note i found a guy that sells discounted tickets to
the park for $50 which is much better them the $85 the park
       charges. :)
If anyone is going and wants the guys number let me know.

AJ - Glad you finally got to ride it. With your stellar review
of LR, we are now thinking about a 1 day quick trip to ride it
this summer. Casey graduates from Delta flight attendant school
this week. We could fly into Knoxville on Delta for free and
rent a car for the trip to Gatlinberg and Pigeon Forge. We
would be able to add six new coasters and finally get LR, and
still get home that night. LOL Not paying for airfare or
hotels makes trips a lot cheaper!!

^yea im glad i got on it. The one thing that really surprised me
was how fast you are launched up the lifthill as you get thrown
into the lapbar as you fly over the hill. The thing does not let
up until you hit the brake run. It is weird going that fast on a
wooden coaster. And yes i think its better then steel vengeance
at CP. I'm glad they went with a traditional layout instead of
       adding inversions like outlaw.

Did I mention my spring break falls around when the park opens
for the season? might try and get a group together, fly to
Knoxville in the mid-afternoon the Friday, spend Sat and Sun at
the park, then do some other stuff (like the Jurassic Ride and
possible cred run) after the park closes.

We are now at Dollywood and just finished our first ride on LR.
Definitely the best wood coaster for us. Waiting in line to ride
again to determine if it is #1 overall. It will be # 2 at the
worst. Could be 1. More to come. Amazing coaster.

We finished our time at Dollywood today. It was an incredible
small crowd for a weekend. LR was a station wait. We rode 6
times today before we had to head to the airport. We did one
ride on the back today after all front seat rides yesterday. In
the back it was violent and borderline painful. It was all up
front for us the rest of the way. LR is amazing and my #1 Casey
is wavering 1 or 2. Either way every enthusiast should try to
       get there for this experience.
