The weakness is with many of the new coasters over the last few years not being ridden yet. We did get Steel Vengeance, but haven't got LR or any of the new ones this year yet. We hope to rectify that soon. #Post#: 794-------------------------------------------------- Re: The Never Ending Pointless Thread By: Pineracer Date: July 18, 2019, 1:39 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Phillies vs Dodgers...on YouTube. Never thought I would see that printed in a newspaper. Note: My mom works at an arboretum and they get the paper and I was looking through the most recent one (from the 15) and it said game today at 12:35 on YouTube (and a home game for Philadelphia). #Post#: 795-------------------------------------------------- Re: The Never Ending Pointless Thread By: Mrceagle Date: July 18, 2019, 10:53 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I got a push notification about that but I was out. #Post#: 876-------------------------------------------------- Re: The Never Ending Pointless Thread By: Pineracer Date: July 26, 2019, 9:54 am --------------------------------------------------------- I'm now on Wattpad (HTM) https://www.wattpad.com/user/Lemurseighteen #Post#: 1009-------------------------------------------------- Re: The Never Ending Pointless Thread By: depotrat Date: August 18, 2019, 4:22 am --------------------------------------------------------- We are in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge this weekend. It is certainly a tourist Mecca on par with Branson, Wisconsin Dells, Myrtle Beach, and the Canadian side of Niagara Falls! We did not do the Ripley's museum, the upside down house, the Dolly Parton Stampede, or the Hatfield McCoy dinner but those do lend a flavor to the place. LOL. Actually we had a blast so far with a big chunk of the day at Dollywood on Saturday and then spending Saturday late afternoon and night riding mountain coasters, eating decadent foods, and enjoying some incredible views. It would be difficult to do this area on the cheap but it does have a lot to offer beyond the tourist trap stuff. Today we are back at Dollywood for opening and then fly home to the real world late Sunday afternoon. It is quite an area. There really is something for almost everyone here and certainly plenty for enthusiasts. #Post#: 1017-------------------------------------------------- Re: The Never Ending Pointless Thread By: Pineracer Date: August 19, 2019, 11:24 am --------------------------------------------------------- Since I still don't know Dollywood's 2020 hours yet so this is a theoretical plan that Opening Day (most likely if it happens at all) would full day at the park and then head to the Nascar Speed Park for that credit, with the Jurassic Boats and The Island on Sunday (and probably not a full day at Dollywood), and Anakeesta Monday. Currently, I would plan to go down Friday and go back Wednesday, but wouldn't mind flying back Tuesday if things go that way. #Post#: 1018-------------------------------------------------- Re: The Never Ending Pointless Thread By: depotrat Date: August 19, 2019, 1:24 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is a hopping place in general and has 20 credits available for enthusiasts. Check out these: Dollywood Rocky Top Mountain Coaster The Island Smokey Mountain Alpine Coaster Goats on the Roof Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster Rowdy Bear Gatlingburg Rowdy Bear Pigeon Forge Anakeesta Ober Gatlinburg NASCAR Most of these except Dollywood are open pretty late each night so much can get done in a couple of days. It certainly is a pricey place though. Getting all these credits will run in the $200-$300 range. Good luck on your trip. Now that we have done all these places, glad to answer any questions yu might have. #Post#: 1021-------------------------------------------------- Re: The Never Ending Pointless Thread By: Pineracer Date: August 20, 2019, 9:52 am --------------------------------------------------------- I only counted 18 via RCDB Dollywood-9 (Lightning Rod, Thunderhead, Dragonflier, Whistle Punk Chaser, Mystery Mine, Blazing Fury, Firechaser Express, Wild Eagle, Tennessee Tornado), with a recently removed kiddie cred so there are probably people with 10 credits Kiddie coasters-2 (Spinning Parrot, Speedway coaster) and 7 mountain coasters, but I would only plan to get Rail Runner (and the Jurassic Boats, but I would skip if the money isn't there) this trip. #Post#: 1022-------------------------------------------------- Re: The Never Ending Pointless Thread By: depotrat Date: August 20, 2019, 3:36 pm --------------------------------------------------------- RCDB has yet to add the newest type of coaster that has appeared in that area. Check out the Sky Glider and the Alpine Flyer on the Rowdy Bear website. I was really looking forward to Rail Runner at Anakesta and when you include the cost of the Chondola to the top of the mountain it was one of the most expensive coaster credits ever. It was actually very disappointing. The monorail combined with the layout of the track made it rough at high speeds. The layout required extensive braking which diminished the ride IMO. #Post#: 1103-------------------------------------------------- Re: The Never Ending Pointless Thread By: Pineracer Date: September 1, 2019, 2:53 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Back to Action in the 'Boro ***************************************************** (DIR) Previous Page (DIR) Next Page
