       A Madman? - Chapter 10
By: The Vixens Date: August 12, 2016, 10:26 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
"We've entered the delicate stage of the plan Wilson," Harvey
said after he hung up. "P.J. believes that they've got the
       killer."
"And we need to make sure he continues to believe that we do,"
Wilson said trying to remember how the plan was to go. "Then
what? I got a bit confused after that part."
"We both know who killed that girl right? But we can't just
       arrest them without undeniable evidence."
Wilson furrowed his brow. "But we do have evidence."
Harvey nodded. "True. But if we give it to P.J. it'll be
destroyed within the hour. And we can't go to anyone else in the
station about this. God knows who we can trust now."
"You never explained how you found out who did it," Wilson
realised. "What ingenious tactics did you use to figure it out?"
"Ten years ago a girl was murdered and was left undiscovered
until a few months ago," Harvey recalled. "All I did was access
the confidential files and noticed that the police were kept out
of the area for years. You want to know why?"
       "Yes please."
"P.J.'s uncle was the head of Homicide before he took over three
years ago," Harvey explained. "And oddly enough the uncle
stopped police activity in that area just two days before a call
came in about a missing person."
"And that missing person was the one we found dead and buried,"
Wilson said. "But why did no one question P.J.'s uncle about the
       area?"
"The uncle wasn't exactly a friendly guy to say the least. He
ran that division with an iron fist; and no one from the other
divisions could do anything about it."
"Getting back to your detective skills," Wilson said. "How did
       you find the killer?"
Harvey remembered that day. The day of the meeting with
Richelle. "I just put two and two together. You see, why else
would the uncle keep the police out of the area? He supposedly
had no reason to. So why?"
"He was the one who committed that murder," Wilson realised. "Or
       he knew who did."
"Well done Wilson," Harvey said. Wilson couldn't tell if he
       meant it or not.
"So anyway," Harvey continued. "Uncle whatshisname kept that
area out of bounds all the way until P.J. took over. Then he
continued to do so until your team received an anonymous tip
about where the body is. You find it and call me even though I
specifically stated I was retired from this!"
"Sorry!" Wilson exclaimed. "We wouldn't have had to call you if
       all of our equipment worked."
"I've read the reports on that," Harvey said. "Oddly enough most
of the equipment in the division was "faulty?" Well that's what
was in P.J.'s official statement anyway."
       "You're saying he sabotaged them?"
"Everything goes through him right? So of course he would know
to mess your sh*t up," Harvey said. "It was the only way he
could get out of this. But he didn't count the apartment voting
to bring me in on this. By the way did you ever visit the
       witness?"
       "What witness?"
Harvey frowned. "P.J. must have made it up. This clearly means
he knows something. Don't you agree?"
"So how do we bring the son of a b**ch down?" Wilson asked. He
just assumed Harvey's question was rhetorical.
"P.J. runs the division the same way his uncle did," Harvey
explained. "So there is no way we can trust anyone in that
station with it. P.J. would find out if we gave it to another
       division."
       "But...?"
"How much of the plan did you understand?" Harvey asked.
"I know we've got to deliver a message," Wilson answered.
       "Anonymously if I remembered correctly."
"That's right," Harvey said. "And by the way you're the one
who's delivering it. I know someone downtown who owes me a
favour. You'll know them when you see them. Just tell them that
       Montague sent you."
"What about Paige though?" Wilson asked. "We're suppose to catch
this killer and all we've done is thrown her under the bus."
"In due time," Harvey said. "If this plays out the way I planned
it then she'll be out of there in no time."
Harvey's phone buzzed right after he said that. He read the
       message. "That was P.J."
       "What did he say?"
"The police will be here within two minutes," Harvey said. "And
       he's leading them."
"How do you that Paige or someone inside won't try and get rid
       of the knife?" Wilson asked.
"I won't be surprised if they do. The way they stand by each
other is admirable. But even if they hide the knife, P.J. will
find it. He always does. And Paige's prints are all over that
       thing."
       "How do you know that?"
"Because the dead girl was stabbed; and with a little help from
a few "friends" I've made a knife that will appear to have been
used to stab her all those years ago. I assume I don't have to
explain who was "holding" it at the time do I?
