Subj : Pleco uproots plants To : All From : Ron Hagley Date : Fri Jan 16 2004 08:43 pm Hi all, just found you and have a major problem I hope you may be able to help me with. I have a 48" x 18" x 15 " Juwel with white silica sand as a base for planting into. Unfortunately I also have a 10" Pleco which seems to revel in disturbing the sand and consequently uprooting the plants in his attempts to get under everything. I wonder if putting a layer of silica sand and then a porous plastic mesh before the final layer of silica would help solve this problem. I could then plant into the top layer and the roots would hopefully work through the mesh into the bottom layer. Any thoughts on this or alternative suggestions - I don't really want to lose Pleco as he is such a character but.......... Best wishes Ron --- þ RIMEGate(tm)/RGXPost V1.14 at BBSWORLD * Info@bbsworld.com --- * RIMEGate(tm)V10.2áÿ* RelayNet(tm) NNTP Gateway * MoonDog BBS * RgateImp.MoonDog.BBS at 1/16/04 8:43:03 PM * Origin: MoonDog BBS, Brooklyn,NY, 718 692-2498, 1:278/230 (1:278/230) .
