Subj : SSH > Telnet > BBS To : All From : Martin Kazmaier Date : Wed Jan 04 2023 09:27 pm I would like to do the above with windows, if possible. My BBS software doesn't support SSH but this seems like it would make it possible. At the very worst, I could run a linux vm to do the work of that, then the bbs in a windows vm. Ioram Sette did this with EleBBS/Linux, and I'm running EleBBS/Win32 (2013 Binaries, Windows 7 Pro/32bit SP1) in a VM (Under Windows 10 Pro/x64), but I've been unable to contact his bbs (ssh://bsbbs.bbs.br) (he also has ftelnet setup to connect to his ssh port) to ask how and get some ideas for win32 usage. I'm sure other BBS sysops not running SSH capable BBS' would like to know how to do this as well. As another way, if I could set up a proxy server on my windows server (it seems possible, but I haven't seen any decent descriptions, other than setting up an existing server) and use ftelnet from the local server, keeping all unencrypted traffic local. Xposted from Local BBS and r/bbs Thanks, ideas would be welcome! --- Shurato, Sysop Shurato's Heavenly Sphere (telnet, pop3, ftp, nntp) (ports 23, 110, 21, 119) shsbbs.ddns.net (shoutcast at 8000) *** THE READER V4.50 [freeware] --- * Origin: Shurato's Heavenly Sphere shsbbs.ddns.net (1:340/1101) .
