All hope abandon, ye who enter messages here. I'm not sure if I mentioned before it depends on the grade of ammo you are producing. Match grade/ benchrest ammo will save you more money than recreating 9mm hardball or 55gr .223 for plinking. I used to break even when I reloaded shotshells, then when I began producing specialty loads such as lig hter recoiling 1oz loads for the 12 ga, it really paid off because I don't know of many places you can find them. Regarding hundreds or thousands, it also depends on how far you go. I don't run a Dillon progressive. My presses are single stage. If I shot IDPA or steel challenge, I would probably invest in a larger press than can put out several hundred rounds an hour. For now, it's smaller batches of ammo for ladder testing. I would like to dial in a nice 77gr Vmax load that will let me reach out to the woodchucks and raccoons at the edge of the woods. --- þ Synchronet þ The Cave BBS - Since 1992 - cavebbs.homeip.net .
