If the scan is working fine, then the problem may be with the 'primary' netmail 
area (a *.Msg directory).  SCAN extracts copies from a secondary netmail area 
and places them in the primary.  When the PACK operates it should be extracting 
copies from the primary area and packs them up into outbound bundles, according 
to your routing rules.  The primary netmail area can be shared with your 
mailer, BTW, if it can use such.

The patch is really only useful if your mailer does Binkley-style outbound, 
and, is specifically aimed at fixing output from a PACK command when the -P 
option is used.  I have a copy of the update doover here: BUPD124A.ZIP 
(08-Apr-97); 18K small.
