One thing that I look at is what the majority of nodes use, because this can
have an implication for netmail.  You can netmail FTN nodes if FTN connected,
and you can netmail (Synchronet at least) QWK nodes, if you're QWK connected,
but there's no 2 way gating of netmail, only echomail.

Synchronet is equally capable of using FTN or QWK.

I'm using FTN to access FSX here.
