Yes, it seems like a configuration issue.

Have you not looked at the infopack?  How about an Areafix message to 
show all available echos, and then connect up the ones you want?  Those 
are things which should be done by any new node.  Your "code" is quite 
"blatantly vague", actually.... what does that mean?  Do you mean 
getting your BBS properly configured?

echo for BBS Ads, but not sure how we got so far off track.  Good luck.
