FTP is a pretty horrid protocol. So bad that OS's have to have special hacks
for a *layer 7 protocol* in their kernels.

HTTP(S) supports continuation. I regularly downloads gigs and gigs over HTTP.
Torrent is nice of course, if there are many good seeds. SCP isn't too bad.
