It's to do with the nature of quantum physics and the observer effect, if I

Yeah, well thread drift happens.  I remember when it came to real time audio
applications, 486s couldn't keep up with speech grade audio on some of the
algorithms, if I recall.  So the poor old Vic 20 would fall in a heap. :D
