Hu> There is nothing sarcastic in my response, honestly, the best place to talk about BBSs and life I found are the BBSes themselves. Seriously. It's just few of us here, but who needs millions buzzing nonsense if you can find few who actually share meaningful opinions that resonate with you and trigger you to talk more. I respect this community's opinions (even if I sometimes disagree) more than most of the places online I know these days. Point is that BBSes I use for messaging are great substitute of USENET I knew back in the 90s and early 00s. If I needed more IRC/chat formula then I haven't found ideal place. I occasionally try some IRC servers to experience ghost towns like you said. I use discord with few servers related to retro computing, data hoarding, demo scene, dungeon crawler (blobber) games and BBSes (Araknet, BBS World). I find it fine but not ideal. BBS orientated discords are ghost towns. But perhaps this is good. if we diverted our time connecting to terminal and chatted on discord about BBSing instead... what's the point about BBSes in regards to keep the discussions on the boards. For me BBS orientated discord servers are only to spot some nicknames I know from the boards for private messaging. Sometimes it's more convenient to realize something quicker. To discuss life (any topic) the USENET formula on BBS FTNs good enough. I don't find it necessary to look after another platform for it. -h1 .... Xerox Alto was the thing. Anything after we use is just a mere copy. --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A48 (Linux/64) * Origin: 2o fOr beeRS bbs>>>20ForBeers.com:1337 (21:2/150) .
