Thus why the no politics/religion rule (and general be-kind ethos), the lack of karma things, and the lack of easy meme-ing make this such a better place to be than arguing with random people on the internet.

Or, worse, friends.

Not that debating in person is inherently bad -- generally people are more able to be nuanced, then.

I purchased licenses for them recently, and like that it's still possible to support some BBS software, even though I can't imagine there's any money to be made in the field.

(not that I'm in the InterBBS games. I figure, unless I'm planning on playing them, better to leave it to other BBSs.)

But I'm glad I'm in a place where I can offer small amounts of money to various projects that I enjoy, or enjoyed in previous years.
