Most people watch most movies (or TV shows/series) just once, so they don't need to "own" it. Even if you do want to own the video, you're a lot more likely to download it (with or without DRM) than to get it sent to you on some physical media. I think we've reached the point where most media consumers have the bandwidth to just stream what they want (e.g. music, videos) when they want it and even if they opt to save a copy, they're getting it from a network. I think the only way that would change is if the media files were somehow exceeding large again, but I just don't see that happening.
