I just sized my arrays so my house is off-griddable. Completely.

We still have a power subscription but we draw zero Watts from it. The main
switch is closed. I am still to convince my family to cancel the power
subscription.


We even have a diesel generator with automatable startup linked to our setup.
If the solar batteries ran dry the generator can be set to recharge them or to
just power the house.
