Like so many I A> have conversed with in the nets I wouldn't know him if I A> bumped into him somewhere. I don't remember many names, but back in 1995 there was a "Region17Con" in Edmonton that I attended - I wonder if I may have briefly met Dallas then. I remember that Scott Dudley (author of Maximus BBS software) was a guest speaker, I have fond memories of a couple of other sysops but I am blanking on names now. A> Bandmaster was one of the first BBSs I ever called. Back A> in the day Bandmaster had something like 6 lines. I didn't call Bandmaster until the 2000s, but did call in a few times now and then when I was on a BBS nostalgia kick. I think I heard he closed the last public dialup node in recent years? A> Times have changed but those were the days. :) I was always in awe of the multiline BBSes in the 90s - I was just a teenager on a farm with a single line BBS (shared on our family's voice phone line, with a distinctive ring # for the BBS). There was a 2-line BBS the next town over, which I enjoyed, but the BBSes in cities that had MORE THAN 2 lines seemed like they must be fantastically large. :) Chris/akacastor --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: Another Millennium - Canada - another.tel (21:1/162) .
