The > PC was always working hard. Yep, I did that in the early 1990's. I was running a board where FTN was not native so it was an extra challenge. I think it went something like this: Waffle <-> Fredmail <-> Squish <-> Fidogate <-> My Board "Fidogate" in this case was the "tosser" that ran in between the FTN tosser and my board which converted *.msg files into the board's message bases. Then someone wrote a package for GT Power that would replace the Waffle callouts to the Usenet provider, and that IIRC also replaced the Fredmail-Squish-Fidogate part.
