yeah i did the same, but screen was small and for iOS you need a wifi obd2 adapter (bluetooth is not good for the iphones) and so there is no internet on the phone while using it. so i've got out the old dvd-driven (japan-only) navigation and built in the rpi. i've found some nice python scripts on github and i've customized it to my needs. installed kodi+plex, dosbox, etc.

yeah its getting power all the time but very few. if you dont move with your car for two weeks that is still not a problem...
