Income-wise it's probably about the same here, if not lower. But home prices are probably quite a bit less than that. Still outrageous compared to say, 5 years ago. I would probably made almost double what we paid for our house almost 20 years ago, but with the current prices on new houses, we would be right back into the same kind of mortgage/loan we've almost paid off over the years now.

I don't want to start over. I'd rather pay this house off before I'm 50, try to retire by 56, and enjoy no mortgage payment the rest of my life. :)
