I find the topic of a new messsage network technology interesting and have been following along here. However, before anything "new" is proposed, I suggest a careful examination of what is wrong with the current technology (FTN). I've started my own list here: http://wiki.synchro.net/wiki:user:digital_man#what_s_wrong_with_fidonet For a long time, I've been innovating with QWK-based networking, because 1. it was more extensible (than FTN) while maintaining backward-compatibility 2. the networks (e.g. DOVE-Net) were more amenable to change With Synchronet, I also supported PostLink networking (e.g. RIME) in the past and certainly have no love of FTN, but I think it'd be best to know what you're trying to fix before you try to replace it with something else. :-) -- digital man (rob) Rush quote #51: Suddenly you were gone from all the lives you left your mark upon Norco, CA WX: 57.8øF, 77.0% humidity, 7 mph WNW wind, 0.15 inches rain/24hrs .
