There are some people who have a lot to contribute so long as you keep them off of politics. For some reason, they see a political discussion as a place to "show their a$$es" and think they don't have to behave like they do otherwise. So you don't want to filter them entirely. There are a couple that have made it into my twitlist due to posts on another network...
