So I just re-jigged my packet processing, deferring seenby and path resolution to much later, which should result in faster message processing, when they go via the queue, and less memory consumption overall.

I've seen the speed improvement - 2-3x faster, which is great. So now I'm just making sure that I havent broken anything :)
