Hey Mike!

I just compiled vlc (many warnings) and discovered this;

 $ vlc -l | grep H.265
  hevc                   HEVC/H.265 video packetizer
  h26x                   HEVC/H.265 video demuxer
  x265                   H.265/HEVC encoder (x265)
