Subj : slackware{,64}-current To : Alan Ianson From : Maurice Kinal Date : Fri Jan 13 2023 07:49 pm Hey Alan! AI> I did take slackware-current out for a look about a month ago. AI> There was only one minor issue I encountered, I installed it on a laptop and it had MAJOR issues with kv-5. I plan to try it now that they've moved on. I can't say that I am a big fan of kv-5. AI> I don't remember what it was now but I'm sure it has been or can AI> be resolved now. I am hoping kv-6 takes it over the top. AI> The next time I need to partition I am going to add an extra AI> space for stuff like that. For uefi boots I dedicate entire disks for that. For the legacy boots I stick with an extra partition. Speaking of which I have framebuffers working but no joy on boot penguins ... yet. The legacy boot is an inteldrm based jobber (aka Little Mikey's Brain). For sure the amdgpu is the better option as far as boot penguins are concerned. I am hoping to get an orange pi jobber up and running (aarch64) and will probably try installing the -current version of that onto what I hoe will be a successful first boot on a nvme disk on that particular platform. I have a great dislike using uSD cards for boot disks ... other that for install disks that is but even there regular USB flash disks are cheaper and better methinks. Life is good, Maurice ....
