Subj : os/2 internet connection To : Wayne Steele From : Chris Martin Date : Sat Jan 31 2004 11:42 am Once upon a time, out on MARS. While reading the mail, wispering this: CM> NOPE! can run in a Dos partition under OS/2. I run CM> 1.60d also, and have a copy of SIO2K, just haven't CM> seen the need to upgrade it yet. If I move to Warp4, CM> then likely so, but 1.60d runs just fine in W3. WS> Curious... Do you happen to go out to the net via a network? If so do you r un WS> winroute? If so is there anyway thatone can connect to a local machine usin g WS> a subdomain... I have badnews.bbs.us registered and working on the outside WS> but localy I have to use my local IP's like 192.168.1.x and so on... Nope.. I go out on the net via dial-up with a PPP dialer for DOS that runs in the window for the BBS main line. Something about the software not sharing the modem, for InJoy, or others. Soon I will be getting DSL, and will look into trying to access via a router, and FINALLY get a node or two up for telnet. I'll have to upgrade the Warp3 to Warp3 Connect to get the networking, but that shouldn't be that drastic. Chris Martin, The MARS Station BBS * WCE 2.1G1/2419 * ...
