June 2, 2005        SEC Gopher Service Discontinued

 Gopher service was interrupted May 7 during the major network
 and computer problems. SEC has since decided to discontinue
 Gopher services.  The Gopher interface is available from a
 web browser at http://sec.noaa.gov/ftpmenu
 
 Gopher customers can contact SEC if this service is critical.

The Floodgap Groundhog is based on this service, so you can still get it 
there if NOAA declines to put it back up. It takes its data from the 
HTTP-based menus.
