The battle

Writing a couple of journal lines to avoid despair.  It
is pointless to do so, I know.

This code base is so bad because people systematically
take shortcuts, and this is so annoying.

Nobody is putting pressure on me, so I should be calm
and go gradually to my goal, but wouldn't it be better
if people didn't take that shortcuts in the first
place?

The only important thing, I believe, is to avoid being
side-tracked too much.  I should point at my target,
while defeating the many obstacles resulting from
general sloppiness.
