You brought a lot of memories back thanks for waking SP> my brain up! I sort of fell into the VCR repair. I had been managing a confuser store when the owner filed for bankruptcy and gave me the store and inventory, sketchy as it was, in lieu of my last two week's pay. I had to re-name the business since there were suppliers who would not sell to "Computer Tutor" -- even for ca$h money. Megabyte Computer Works became an authorised Amiga dealer as well as a Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer (they had a nice little 286 powered laptop at a good price point). We also repaired computers and other electronics. As the computer business died out, going to the big box stores and mail order, the electronic repair (especially VCRs) kept us afloat. But, that began to wither on the vine when it became possible to buy a brand-new, feature-laden, 4 head machine for what I charged for a cleaning and tune up. Bv(= So we morphed into a satellite TV business. We were the last C-Band (big dish) guys in the area. But the bread & butter was PrimeStar, Dish and DirecTV (the small dishes). Those were good times in retrospect. But I'd not want to go through it again. Still ......... ....
