I remember a great book called "Numerical Recipes in FORTRAN" that was full of code snippets and flow charts for most analytics needs, it was like a "Cliff's Notes" for every FORTRAN text. Later on, they translated it to C, which seemed a much more cumbersome language for the kind of algorithms in the book. ....
